Eunju Cheung

Eunju Cheung was born in 1996 in Seoul, South Korea. She started her music education at Yewon School and after graduation enrolled at Seoul Arts High School. From 2015 until 2019 she studied at Seoul National University with Professor Minji Kim, earning a Bachelor of Music degree in solo violoncello, and currently, she is studying at Hochschule für Musik Detmold with Professor Ksenija Janković.

She has played numerous solo performances such as at the Munho Art Center (2013), KEPCO Art Center (2014), Musik Journal Kammermusik Wettbewerb Gewinner concert (2016), performances with the quartet at Seoul Arts Center IBK Hall (2017), Samsung Electronics Leadership Center (2017), Young Artist in International Art Hall (2018), Young Chamber Concert in Kumho Art Hall (2019), TIMF Academy (2020) and others. 

She is a winner of many awards, among some: 1st prizes at the Korea Herald Music Competition (2013), The Music Education News (2014), Musik Journal Kammermusik Competition (2016), Korea Chamber Orchestra Competition for Chamber Music (2016); 2nd prizes at the Strad Competition (2013), Hansei University Music Competition (2013), International Music Competition Hongkong for Chamber Music (2016), Seoul Solist Cello Ensemble Competition (2018).
