Hyunah Pyo

Hyunah Pyo was born in South Korea in 2001. She started playing cello at the age of eight. She is currently studying with Pieter Wispelwey at the University of Germany.

Before studying with him she studied with Jeong Joo Choi. She participated in masterclasses with Myung Wha Jung, Arto Noras, Frans Helmerson, Jens Peter Maintz, Steven Isserlis. In 2016 she joined Kronberg Academy and took a masterclass given by Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt.

In 2012 she won the Ewha & Kyunghyang Competition, Haneum Music Competition. Two years later she won the fourth prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians. In 2017 she won Grand Prix in String, Hanye Music Competition.

She performed at the Kumho Prodigy Opening Concert, Kumho Prodigy Solo Recital, Seoul Spring Chamber Festival in Korea, Calahorra International Festival of Chamber Music in Spain.
