After careful evaluation of the Second Stage video recordings and an intensive set of meetings and evaluations, the Jury members made the decision upon the admittance of the candidates to the Final Stage of the 50th IJMC Belgrade, as well as the special awards winners for the best performances of the compulsory pieces.
The six finalists of the 50th International Jeunesses Musicales Competition Belgrade are:
- Vuk Simon Ovaskainen, 20, Serbia / Finland
- Sunghyun Park, 15, South Korea
- Eunju Cheung, 24, South Korea
- Đorđe Nikolić, 21, Serbia
- Joel Geniet, 18, France
- Francesco Stefanelli, 21, Italy / San Marino
The special award for the best performance of the compulsory piece, A. Vujić's Serbian Round Dance goes to: Vuk Simon Ovaskainen, 20, Serbia / Finland
The special award for the best performance of the compulsory piece, N. Borenstein's Odysseus op. 87 for violoncello and piano goes to: Christina Bensi, 20, Greece
The Jury members and the Competition Board congratulate to finalists and wish to thank all the candidates who participated in the Second Stage of the 50th IJMC Belgrade. We are happy and proud to see the great professionalism and musicianship with all candidates at such a young age.
The Final Stage will be held in Belgrade in the period of March 20th-24th.
